The Wisconsin Wind Orchestra will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in the Humphrey Memorial Chapel on the Carroll College campus.
This performance is the first since the group's return from a European tour that took it to cities throughout Holland in May 2002. That tour culminated in a live radio show on National Dutch Radio broadcast from the famed Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
The Nov. 17 concert will feature music from Mozart's popular opera, "Don Giovanni." Also included will be 18th century music by Beethoven and Franz Krommer.
Founded in 1995, the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra is a unique ensemble that features some of the finest musicians in southeast Wisconsin. Its repertoire spans a wide range of works from Mozart and Brahms to Varese and contemporary composers.
The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Lawrence Harper, director of bands and chair of the music department at Carroll College.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors. Call the Carroll College box office at 524-7633 or purchase at the door.
