Carroll University's resident professional ensemble, the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra, will be back home for a performance at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. The concert will be in the Humphrey Memorial Chapel, 238 N. East Ave., Waukesha, and is $10 adults, $5 students and seniors 60 and older. Led by conductor and Carroll professor of music Lawrence Dale Harper, the orchestra will perform "Rondino" by Ludwig van Beethoven, selections from "Carmen" by Georges Bizet, "Capriol Suite" by Peter Warlock and "Beim Abschied zu Singen" by Robert Schumann, with the Carroll Concert Choir. A special performance of "Benny's Gig" by Morton Gould will feature Dan Roberdeau, clarinet, and John Babbitt, bass.
The Wisconsin Wind Orchestra also will perform these selections in Kenosha on Sunday, Jan. 30, and in Fond du Lac on Thursday, Feb. 3, as part of the cities' subscription arts series.
